We’ve been at Green Turtle Bay Marina in Grand Rivers, KY for a week now. We hadn’t originally planned on staying here so long, but a combination of boat repairs, being worn out from the previous leg of our adventures, and the incredible beauty of this area have kept us here a while. Here are a few photographs of the property and the Grand Rivers area.
- Barkley Lake
- Three of those Green Turtles sharing a log
- The view from our dock. Really.
- A headstone in the woods
Thanks for updating the blog; I was worried that you had sunk and burned and got arrested, etc. but then I found out that you two were just having fun. I know you will enjoy Kentucky Lake with its beautiful secluded anchorages on the Land Between the Lakes side (east side) and great marinas and parks on the West side. On your approach to Pickwick Lock you will encounter the last of the “in your face current”. It will be about 4 MPH. it’s all down hill from there. We are enjoying your trip with you.
We could use a little downhill, Tom! We’re looking forward to this leg of the trip for sure.
Looks lovely – I’d find it hard to leave.
Yes, it was tough to leave, until a cold front came through and it got down to 40 degrees at night! We need to get South.
